1. What is Audit in Localo?
š” Localo Audit automatically analyzes your Google Business Profile and its online presence, then shows you what is worth improving and where to start.
Every active profile receives an Audit Score from 0 to 100%. Localo performs 17 automated checks and uses the results to provide recommendations organized by priority.
Instead of analyzing your profile yourself, you can quickly move from identifying a problem to taking a specific action.
2. Where can I find Audit in Localo?
Audit is available for profiles with Optimization enabled. If Optimization is not yet active for a Google Business Profile, enable it first:
Then go to ā Audit
2.1 When should I check Audit?
It is best to check Audit after setting up your monitored keywords, as they are taken into account in part of the analysis.
This does not mean that Audit only checks elements related to keywords. It also analyzes other areas of your Google Business Profile and its online presence.
When you add or remove monitored keywords, Localo automatically runs the Audit again to take these changes into account.
3. What does the Audit Score mean?
Every active profile receives an Audit Score from 0 to 100%.
For example, an Audit Score of 72% does not mean that 72% of the checks have been passed. Individual elements have different levels of importance in the final score.
When determining the importance of the analyzed elements, Localo also uses insights from a study of 16,098 Google Business Profiles.
You can also check your Audit Score history to see how the score has changed across subsequent Audits.
ā An Audit Score of 100% does not mean that your business ranks #1 on Google, nor does it guarantee a #1 ranking.
4. What does Localo Audit check?
Audit performs 17 automated checks covering areas such as your business name, address, primary and additional categories, opening hours, business description, photos, reviews, social media links, and your position compared with local competitors.
The results of these checks contribute to your Audit Score from 0 to 100%, which helps you quickly assess the state of the analyzed elements of your profile.
4.1 Do all checks apply to every profile?
Audit analyzes the same main areas, but recommendations are tailored to each individual Google Business Profile. They may take into account the profile's data, monitored keywords and, where applicable, local competitor data.
4.2 Where does the Audit Score come from?
The Audit Score is calculated by Localo. Google does not provide its own score for Google Business Profiles.
Localo's methodology uses insights from an analysis of 16,098 local Google Business Profiles to determine the importance of selected elements for local visibility.
Individual checks do not necessarily have the same impact on the final score.
That is why an Audit Score of 72% does not simply mean that 72% of the checks have been passed.
Where applicable, Audit also compares your profile with 5 strong local competitors. This helps you understand not only what is worth improving, but also how your profile compares with other local businesses.
5. How do I use Audit in Localo?
Audit does more than show you a list of elements to check. It also helps you determine what to do first, why it matters, and where to make the change.
5.1 Check your Audit Score
Start with your current Audit Score to quickly assess the state of your profile. Then move on to the recommendations that require action.
5.2 Start with the highest-priority recommendations
Localo organizes Audit results by priority:
High Impact: elements you should start with
Medium Impact: lower-priority elements
Everything is fine: the element is in good shape and does not currently require action
These priorities help you determine the order of your work, so you immediately know which actions to start with.
5.3 Check what to improve and why
Each recommendation helps answer two key questions:
š What should I change?
š Why should I change it?
For selected recommendations, you will also see a comparison with local competitors, for example:
5.4 Make the recommended change
Each recommendation shows you where you can take the appropriate action.
Depending on the recommendation, you may be able to make the change in Localo or directly in Google. If the action needs to be completed outside Localo, you will be directed to the appropriate place.
ā Audit identifies areas that need attention, explains its recommendations, and directs you to where you can take action. This does not mean that Localo automatically makes every change for you.
6. How does competitor comparison work?
Where competitor comparison is relevant to a particular check, Localo compares your profile with 5 strong local competitors.
For example, instead of simply telling you that you should get more reviews, Audit can show you how your number of reviews compares with the average among the analyzed competitors.
This makes it easier to understand why Localo recommends a specific action and how your profile compares with the local market.
Not every check requires competitor data. That is why competitor benchmarks only appear in recommendations where this comparison is relevant.
7. How often does Localo run an Audit?
Localo automatically re-audits your profile every 7 days. You do not need to run it manually.
š” Audit is also run again when you add or remove monitored keywords.
If you complete a recommended action today, your Audit Score may not change immediately. Localo will take the change into account during the next analysis once the relevant updated data is available.
For changes made to your Google Business Profile, you may need to wait until the updated information is visible in Google.
8. How do I use Audit when managing multiple profiles?
If you manage multiple Google Business Profiles, the Audit Score displayed on your active profiles list helps you quickly identify the profiles that need attention.
1. Check the Audit Score on your profiles list
ā2. Select a profile that needs attention
ā3. Start with High Impact recommendations
ā4. Complete the recommended action
ā5. After the next Audit, check the score and your new priorities
You can also share an Audit with a client without Localo branding or give them access only to Audit so they can follow recommendations and changes in their score over time.
9. Does a higher Audit Score mean higher Google rankings?
No. The Audit Score does not measure your business's position in Google.
A higher score means that your profile better meets the criteria analyzed by Audit. Localo uses data on factors related to local search results to help prioritize recommendations, but many other factors also affect your business's position in Google.
Therefore, completing a recommendation does not guarantee a ranking increase, and a score of 100% does not mean that your business will rank #1.
ā The Audit Score should be treated as an indicator of the state of the analyzed elements and a tool for deciding what to work on next, not as a Google ranking score.
