Need to add or correct your VAT or company details on a Localo invoice? Whether you're purchasing a subscription for the first time or updating information for accounting purposes, this guide will walk you through every step.
Including both VAT and GST makes this guide applicable to users globally, ensuring accurate tax compliance for either system.
1. Adding VAT Details During the First Purchase
When subscribing to Localo, you can enter your company information right away during checkout.
After clicking “Get started”, a window will appear with a payment form:
Choose your country of tax residence. If local tax rules vary by region, the system may ask for a postal code to determine the correct VAT treatment.
Fill in your VAT and company details. This is where you enter your business name, VAT number, and billing address.- If a GST (Goods and Services Tax) field is available, input your GST number in the designated field to have it seamlessly added to your invoice.
2. Updating Company Information After the Purchase
If you forgot to add VAT details or need to correct the information, follow these steps:
Log in to your Localo account.
Go to the Subscription section.
Click on Invoices, then select the invoice you want to edit.
Use the Edit Company Info option to update the details.5. If VAT or GST details were not added during purchase, entering them post-purchase may make you eligible for a tax refund, depending on local regulations.
💡 Note: If you need a proforma invoice, please contact us before making a payment. We can only issue it in advance.💡 Note: Similarly, if you need a GST refund and missed entering it during purchase, ensure to update the details promptly in your account.
3. What If You Can’t Edit the Data?
Once a VAT invoice is issued, editing may be restricted due to legal or tax requirements in your country.
If you completed a business transaction (i.e., added VAT details during purchase) and now need to change them:
📩 Contact our support team via in-app chat or at [email protected]
We’ll forward your request to our payment provider. They can update the invoice if local regulations allow it.
Summary
You can add VAT details during checkout or later in your account settings.
Editing data on issued invoices may require contacting support.
If you’re unsure, we’re here to help.- GST management follows similar guidelines as VAT, and updates can be made during or post-purchase.
