Want to know where your business appears in local Google search results? Localo’s Position Map makes it easy to track your rankings and spot areas for improvement. Whether you're running your own business or managing clients, this tool helps you stay visible and competitive.

1 - How Google Determines Local Rankings

Local search results are mainly based on a combination of those three factors:

  • Relevance: How well your Google Business Profile matches the search query. Accurate business info helps you appear in more searches.

  • Distance: How far your business is from the location used in the search. Closer businesses usually rank higher.

  • Prominence: How well-known your business is online. This includes:

    • Online reviews

    • Website authority

    • Local citations

    • Your activity on Google

2 - How to Check Your Ranking Using Localo

The Position Map feature in Localo shows where your business appears on the map for any keyword and helps you track changes over time.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Log in to Localo
Open your dashboard to get started.

  2. Select Position Map
You’ll find this in your navigation panel.

  3. Enter a Keyword and Location
For example, try "best coffee shop" or "pet grooming near me" and specify the target area.

  4. Run the Scan
Localo will simulate local searches from different points in the area and record your rank at each one.

  5. View the Color-Coded Grid

    • Green: You’re in the top 3 – great job!

    • Yellow: You’re between positions 4–10 – room for growth.

    • Red: You’re not in the top 10 – focus needed here.

  6. Track Progress Over Time
Compare your visibility across dates to measure the impact of your SEO efforts.
