Welcome to Localo — your all-in-one local SEO assistant designed to help businesses thrive in Google search results. Whether you're a business owner, a digital marketer, or an SEO agency, Localo equips you with the tools to boost your visibility, attract more customers, and grow your presence online.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to get started with Localo and make the most of your subscription from day one.

Step 1: Create Your Localo Account

To get started, visit www.localo.com and create your account. You have two options:

  • Email sign-up: Enter your preferred email address and set up a secure password.

  • Google sign-up: Use your existing Google account for quick registration.

If you’re setting up Localo for a business, we recommend using your company email address. This makes it easier to manage permissions and collaborate with your team later on.

Step 2: Pick a Plan

Once your account is created, you'll choose a subscription plan based on your business needs. Localo offers flexible options:

  • Plans for single and multi-location businesses

  • Agency-friendly options for managing several client profiles

  • A customized enterprise plan is available for businesses managing more than 120 locations — contact our team to set this up

All plans support tracking of 10 keywords per business. You can select either monthly or annual billing and adjust your plan anytime.

Step 3: Add and Connect Your Business

To begin optimizing, connect your Google Business Profile (GBP) or add your business manually. You can:

  • Connect directly using your Google account if you manage the GBP

  • Or, add a business manually without needing manager access to the profile

This flexibility is especially helpful for agencies or consultants working with clients who retain ownership of their GBP.

Note: Localo does not assist with the creation of new Google Business Profiles. You must create the profile externally before connecting it.

Step 4: Choose Keywords

After connecting your profile, it’s time to define the keywords you want to monitor. These are the search phrases potential customers use to find your services locally.

What to expect during this step:

  • Localo will suggest keyword ideas based on your industry and competitors

  • You can select 10 keywords for tracking

  • Keywords should reflect your business offerings and target location (e.g., "emergency plumber in Austin")

Choosing the right keywords is one of the most critical steps in your Localo journey. Your selected phrases determine which search results you track and influence the optimization suggestions you'll receive. Be strategic and specific.

Step 5: Analyze Your Local SEO Health

Once your business and keywords are in place, Localo will generate a complete SEO audit. This overview gives you insight into your current performance and opportunities for improvement.

The audit includes:

  • Current keyword rankings in local search

  • Your business visibility map (where and how often you appear)

  • Profile completeness and data consistency

  • Trends in reviews and user engagement

Use this as your baseline to understand where to focus your initial efforts.

Step 6: Start Optimizing Your Business

Based on your audit, Localo will provide a tailored set of optimization suggestions. These help improve your presence in Google local results.

Tasks may include:

  • Completing missing information like business hours, categories, and descriptions

  • Adding new, high-quality images to your profile

  • Responding to customer reviews promptly and professionally

  • Posting updates and promotions using Google Posts

You’ll also receive AI-generated suggestions to help you publish SEO-friendly content and improve keyword relevance.

Step 7: Track Your Performance

With optimizations underway, it’s important to monitor your results. Localo provides real-time data and insights directly in the dashboard:

  • Track keyword ranking changes over time

  • Visualize your visibility in specific locations

  • Compare your performance against local competitors

Reports summarizing your progress are available in the app. While Localo doesn’t send email alerts, your data is updated regularly to keep you informed.
